Certificate Program Requirements

This section describes student classifications, tuition and fees, and technological requirements for the on-line Homeland Security Certificate program.

Student Classification

There are two student classifications: Degree-seeking and Lifelong Education. Degree-seeking students are enrolled in a degree program at Michigan State. Lifelong Education Status includes all students attending the University who are not pursuing a University degree.

All students must maintain a 3.0 minimum in each certificate course to qualify for the certificate.

Tuition and Fees

Tuition is based on student classification, not the course number. Please visit the Controller's Office to determine your approximate course costs. Lifelong Education Students, scroll down to Special Program Rates for Criminal Justice for credit hour costs.

Minimum Technology: ANGEL Recommended Browsers and Computers

ANGEL 7.2 has been tested with and fully support the following browsers:

Windows OS:  Internet Explorer 6.0 and above, Netscape Navigator 7.1 and above

Macintosh OS:  Mozilla 1.4 and above (which uses the same engine as Netscape Navigator 7.1).

Course materials (in addition to required books) will be available for reading and downloading through the ANGEL system. These materials will generally be presented in MS Professional Formats (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) as well as Adobe (pdf) files.
